v1.0 — Kookee is live

1.0.0New featureDenis Povarov

The first public release. Everything below is available now on Free and Pro plans.

Content modules

Seven surfaces, one project, one API key:

  • Blog — posts with tags, full-text search, pagination and emoji reactions

  • Changelog — versioned entries typed as feature, fix, improvement, breaking, security, deprecated or other, with reactions

  • Help Center — articles in categories, semantic search and view tracking

  • Pages — static content such as Terms, Privacy and About

  • Config — a key-value store for feature flags and settings, with full version history

  • Announcements — in-app messages with scheduled publish and expiry

  • Feedback — a board with voting and threaded comments, organized in columns that drive a public roadmap

TypeScript SDK

@kookee/sdk is a zero-dependency client built on native fetch, with complete type definitions included.

Bash
npm install @kookee/sdk
TypeScript
import { Kookee } from '@kookee/sdk';

const kookee = new Kookee({ apiKey: process.env.KOOKEE_API_KEY! });

const posts = await kookee.blog.list({ limit: 10 });
const article = await kookee.help.getBySlug('how-to-reset-password');
const flag = await kookee.config.getByKey('feature-new-checkout');

REST API

Every module is reachable over HTTP at https://api.kookee.dev/v1 for languages and runtimes without an SDK. Authentication is a single Kookee-API-Key header.

Bash
curl -H "Kookee-API-Key: YOUR_API_KEY" https://api.kookee.dev/v1/blog/posts

List endpoints return { data, total, page, limit, offset, totalPages }. Errors return a code with a matching HTTP status.

CDN build

No build step required. One script tag exposes the SDK globally as KookeeSDK:

HTML
<script src="https://kookee.dev/sdk/latest.js"></script>
<script>
  const kookee = new KookeeSDK.Kookee({ apiKey: 'your-api-key' });
</script>

TypeScript definitions are published alongside it at https://kookee.dev/sdk/latest.d.ts.

AI chat widget

@kookee/react ships KookeeChatWidget, a floating support widget that answers questions from your published help articles and cites its sources.

tsx
import { KookeeChatWidget } from '@kookee/react';
import '@kookee/react/styles.css';

<KookeeChatWidget clientOptions={{ apiKey: 'your-api-key' }} theme="auto" />

Configurable position, theme, accent color, greeting and suggestion pills.

Public portal

Enable the hosted portal and your project gets a public page with all its content modules — blog, changelog, help center, roadmap and feedback — with no frontend work at all. Use it as your public site, or as a reference while you build your own.

API keys

One key for your application — SDK, REST and CDN alike. It reads published content and performs anonymous-safe actions such as reactions, and it cannot create or modify content, so it is safe to ship in client code. Generated from Settings → API Keys & MCP.

A separate MCP key, in the MCP server section of the same page, lets AI assistants write and publish content through the Kookee MCP server. Keep that one private.

Multi-language

Every content entry is per-locale, with translations grouped together. Pass locale to any read method, and fallback (default true) returns the project's default locale when a translation is missing.

For AI assistants

The SDK ships its own TypeScript definitions, so a coding assistant working in your repository writes against real signatures rather than a copy of the docs. Connect an assistant to your project over MCP and it can read your content directly — see the help center for the setup.
