v1.14.2 — Smoother chat answers, lighter React components and a sturdier consent banner

1.14.2ImprovementDenis Povarov

A maintenance release of the chat widget, the React components, the SDK and the cookie consent banner.

  • Chat. Long answers no longer slow the chat down as they stream: earlier answers render once and are left alone, so a text selection in them survives the next answer. Scroll up to reread and the chat stays where you are instead of pulling you back down. Stopping an answer while a client tool runs ends the turn at once.

  • React components. Importing one component no longer bundles its whole entry: HelpBreadcrumbs on its own is 1.2 kB gzipped instead of 5.3 kB. The data hooks refetch when your provider switches projects.

  • SDK. timeoutMs now holds for requests that carry their own AbortSignal, which is every request the React hooks make. The new serializeJsonLd() is the safe way to put JSON-LD in a <script> tag — plain JSON.stringify lets a </script> in a title break out of it. See Sitemaps, RSS feeds and llms.txt.

  • Consent banner. Gated scripts run in page order, so an inline snippet can call the library loaded above it, and on() callbacks wait for those scripts. The banner works with a keyboard and a screen reader, and appears once even when the script is included twice. See Add a cookie consent banner.

Getting it

The chat and consent script tags pick it up on their own. On npm it ships in @kookee/react 1.10.1 and @kookee/sdk 1.10.1.
