Most help centers start from documents, not from a blank editor. Now you can bring those documents in: drop them on the Import files tab, and each one becomes a draft help article.

New
Import files into your help center. The help center page has a new Import files tab next to Articles. Drop Markdown, plain text, HTML, Word (
.docx), PDF or image files, up to 50 at a time, choose public or chatbot only, a category and a language, and click Import. Each file becomes a draft help article, titled after the heading it opens with, or after its file name.Scanned pages and photos are read by AI. PDF pages without a text layer, and images such as a photo of a printed page, are transcribed with their headings, lists and tables.
A content check on every file. Before a file becomes an article, an AI model looks for conversion problems, secrets and other people's personal data, and text addressed to an AI assistant. What it finds appears in an Imported file card on the draft, and a flagged draft is never published automatically.
Publish clean files automatically. Turn it on, and the files the check finds nothing in are published as soon as they are ready.
Import history. Every file's progress, the reason when one fails, and a link to each draft.
Import pages each month: 50 on Free, 1,000 on Pro and 5,000 on Ultra. A PDF counts its pages, an image one page, and any other file one page per 3,000 characters or part of them. The tab shows what you have used.

Improved
The AI chat finds the right passage in a long article. A semantic search now gives the assistant the four best-matching passages in full, at most two from one article, from anywhere in it; further matches still get a 200-character preview. When it opens an article longer than 3,000 characters, it is told how much it has not seen, so it can search for the rest. A translated article counts once, in the visitor's language.
Search indexing replaces an article's index in one step, so a failure part-way through leaves the previous index in place, and an article unpublished while it was being indexed stays out of the chat.
Fixed
Answers no longer list a source because an article contained text shaped like a citation. Titles, bodies and category names are cleaned before the assistant reads them.
Getting it
File import is live in the dashboard for every project. See Import files into your help center for the formats, the content check and the monthly pages.
