v1.25.0 — Webhooks, integrations and team notifications

1.25.0New featureDenis Povarov

Kookee can now tell other systems what happens in your project. Webhooks send signed events to your own URL on every plan, a new Integrations page posts feedback into Slack, Discord and Telegram or opens issues in GitHub, Jira, Asana and Freshdesk, and the people on a feedback post now hear when it is assigned, commented on or moved.

The Integrations page with GitHub Issues, Slack and Jira connected, and Telegram, GitHub Actions and Discord ready to configure

New

  • Webhooks. Connect → Webhooks sends an event to your URL when an entry is published, updated, unpublished or deleted, and when feedback or a comment arrives. Requests are signed the Standard Webhooks way, retried for about 8 and a half hours, and scheduled publish and unpublish dates send their events on time. Paste a deploy hook from Vercel, Netlify or Cloudflare Pages to rebuild your site on publish. Up to 2 endpoints per project on Free, 10 on Pro and 50 on Ultra.

  • Integrations. Connect → Integrations connects Slack, Discord, Telegram, GitHub Issues, GitHub Actions, Jira, Asana and Freshdesk. Chat services post the events you pick, issue trackers get one item per new feedback post, and GitHub Actions starts a workflow when content changes. On Pro and Ultra.

  • Feedback notifications for your team. The person a post is assigned to is told, and its author, assignee and earlier commenters hear about new comments and when it moves to another column. Moving several posts at once sends one notification, not one per post.

  • A New feedback switch per member. The Team page lets each member turn off notifications for new posts. Owners and admins can set it for anyone.

The Webhooks page with two endpoints: a Vercel deploy hook for the four entry events, and the site's own receiver for new feedback and comments

Safe by default

  • Private addresses are refused. A webhook URL has to be public https, and every send checks where the name points, so an endpoint cannot reach your network or a cloud metadata address. Redirects are not followed.

  • Visitor text stays text. @channel, @everyone, mentions and links a visitor writes arrive as plain text in Slack, Discord and Telegram, and as a code block in GitHub, so nobody gets pinged by a stranger.

  • Credentials stay encrypted. Tokens, keys and webhook URLs are stored encrypted, kept out of the audit log, and never shown again after you save them.

  • Broken connections turn off and tell you. An endpoint that answers 410, an integration the service refuses, or either one failing five events in a row is turned off, and the project owner gets a notification and an email.
